Also enjoy some great outdoor concerts with acts like Nelly Furtado, The Philosopher Kings and Our Lady Peace.
Toronto
More than 130 of Toronto's best restaurants participate in Summerlicious, July 7 - 23, offering reasonably priced prix fixe menus. Also, starting July 12, check out the Tony award-winning Spamalot, a musical rendering of the cult movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail, written by Python alumnist Eric Idle.
Edmonton
Moving from one style to another throughout her career as a songwriter, vocalist and guitarist, Ani DeFranco guarantees a wonderfully diverse and entertaining concert. See her live at the Winspear Centre on July 28.
Ottawa
Cisco Systems Bluesfest, July 7 to 16, is one of the country's biggest blues bashes. Four separate stages host musical luminaries like Great Big Sea, Bonnie Raitt, Broken Social Scene, Danny Michel and Mem Shannon. This year's event also has a treat for disco lovers: the Boogie Blast featuring Gloria Gaynor, Sister Sledge, and—remember them?—KC & the Sunshine Band.
Canadian Rockies
The Banff Centre's Banff Summer Arts Festival, brings the best and brightest performing artists to town all summer. Get a sampling of the whole festival in just a few days during the Taste of Festival Weekend, July 7 - 9, featuring headline film, music and dance performances.
